Two funerals within two days
A recent article in Smithsonian Magazine tells the story of man who had to handle the deaths of his father and father-in-law, two days apart from one another. It also provides a glimpse into the difference between a “traditional” funeral home led burial and a DIY burial where the family took care of the disposition out of their own home. Certainly, at-home funerals is not for everyone, but at an average cost of $6,500 for traditional burials, this low cost alternative is something consumers should make themselves aware of.
